Unhappy Abdomen pains while walking

Hi there,
I'm trying to figure this out and hopefully those who are a little more knowlegable can help me. A few times when I've went for my usual evening walk, about 20 minutes out I start to get these gas-like cramps in my abdomen. I don't think it's something I ate because I go walking after work and I don't eat anything at least a few hours before (perhaps this is the problem?). I'm not doing any severe (my pace is about 15 minutes/mile). Yesterday it happened again and this time I went into a grocery store adn bought a bottle of water. The water helped ease the cramps but didn't completely take it away.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

Tam

Hi Tam,
Was the pain in the lower abdomen or in your side? If the side it's called a side stitch and you need to breathe more, in and out, push the breath out hard before inhaling. If it's in the lower abdomen I'm not sure what it was. I hope it doesn't happen again. Good luck to you, Maureen

Hi Maureen,
It wasn't on my side. It was more under my ribs in my lower abodomen. I've had side stitches and I know that's more of a sharp pain. This was really like I was having gas inside my abdomen (sorry to get so graphic!).

Hi Tam,
I have no idea, if it only happened once maybe it won't happen again. It could just be gas from your movements. I know it happens to me when I'm out running or hiking. The most severe gas and bloating that I had was when I was only eating/drinking carbs during a very long race.
I'm outta here for the day, please keep me posted on how you are doing! I think it's great that we are changing our lives and getting out there and moving! Take care, Maureen
