Several of our members are losing their last 10 to 15 pounds - I'll let them tell you about how it is going (one is in Mexico right now - she won't be back until after the first)

Kats-

I moved from Atkins OWL to Protein Power Intervention with little modification to my eating plan, and comparable weight loss. I'm within 10 pounds of my goa, and wanted to lose 50 total, so my answer may not be what you were loking for.

Happy Holidays,

Mark

At any other time of the year, I would have to say that this plan works better than the Atkins plan because it is lower fat (hence lower calories), which tends to be better for the last 10 pounds or so.

This time of year, nothing seems to work very well. <<nibbling on Christmas cookies>>

Wendy, Ellie and Marnie (in Mexico) are all doing very well with their final pounds (so is Bawdy except this week).

I still have about 30 lbs to lose. I haven't lost any this month, but I have had some major medical problems and a surgery (and was on liquid carbage for 10 days).

Both books are good -

Protein Power (PP) goes into why the LC WOEs are so effective at producing weight loss, improving lipid profiles, reducing BP, etc. It also explains the role insulin plays in the development of several medical problems.

PP-Life Plan expands on the base laid by the first book and (at least for me) explains how to use the PP Plan better. It also contains some research that wasn't available when the first book was written.

Bawdy recommends everyone read PP first so they know why they are doing this. I recommend everyone using any LC plan read it for the same reason.

Is everybody Christmas shopping or what?

Kat - Welcome We all have modified our LC plans to suit our individual needs. PP is about moderate fat/protein while Atkins is a higher fat/lower protein program. The only disagreement I have with Atkins is that is says too much protein converts to glucose, I don't believe it to be the case. If it were our Rob would have not be 100+ lighter today

Please feel free to join us and we can help you find what works best for you.

Marks - I think I have seen you post before, please feel free to join our group, everyone is welcome

Alisha - I remember when my DD was little, Christmas was so magical I miss those days.

Another day in paradise

40 mintues and counting and I am a free woman until next Monday
