I've seen adds on the Atkins site for a hot cereal. I would be very interested in trying it...but it is pretty pricey. Has anyone used the cereal products that could provide some feedback? Is it good... do you bloat?
I have been having FlaxOMeal hot cereal fairly regularly. Just ordered a bunch more in fact (about two days ago). I like the Vanilla Almond and Butter Pecan flavors. I serve them with a 1/4 cup of heavy cream and 2 packets of splenda. Very yummy - but I have always loved hot cereals. It helps keep me very "regular" too. No bloating... but I drink lots and lots of water... which keeps things moving on through.
I have also had FlaxOMeal hot cereal, and enjoyed it too. It is good if you really miss having oatmeal. But I found something I like even better, its Grams Low Carb Granola, it is soo good, I have a 1/2 cup in the morning with half & half on it. I highly recommend it. It has about 4 grams of carbs for a 1/2 cup and it fill's you up, Not to mention, its better than regular granola in my view!
I order it at www.gramsgourmet.com. It is well worth the cost. It is not sweetened with malitol, so it wont make you gassy or get the runs, and it is very versatile. When I got it in the mail, I was already eating it by the mailbox! It comes in Vanilla Almond Crunch. I ordered 3 bags. Hope you guys like it!
BUT, I'm not particularly thrilled with the texture although the taste is wonderful. I'm thinking about splurging and ordering cereal since it has become a staple in my diet. As long as it contains flaxseed meal, I'll be happy probably.
Y'all need to try LowCarb Success Flax o Meal Granola. It does have maltitol, but it is not much. I'm extremely sensitive to maltitol, but I have no problems with this. You can find it just about anywhere, and the consistency is great. Just like "real" granola. Not a bag of nuts, if you know what I mean. Hope this helps.
I also eat flax-o-meal cereal. I usually have a half cup serving with a little butter and sugar free maple syrup. My flax-o-meal says 217 calories per 1/2 cup with 2grams net carbs (I believe there is 12 g of fibre).
I got mine at the health food store. Again, pricey, but worth it.
