Why is stevia sometimes used in recipes for induction friendly desserts? The pot I have is all carbs....doesn't make sense to me.
Sometimes erythritol will be used as the bulking agent, that makes it 100 percent carbohydrate, but you can count it as zero. Some sugar alcohols count, that one's okay.
Hi guys. I was wondering if Stevia can halt weight loss. I have been doing fantastic with a 2+ lb a week loss for months when I all of a sudden just stopped. The only thing I have changed in my diet is Zevia brand Stevia sweetened soft drinks. I was getting desperate for something to drink besides water or black decafe. The nutritional table on the can is all 0s so I thought it would be safe. So I was wondering if it's the Stevia or have I just finally plateaued? Any thoughts, opinions? (was drinking about 4/5 cans a week)
Most Keto folks think is Zevia is one of the better choices. You are already at a BMI of 25 which is considered healthy, and near your goal. Maybe your body is happy at the weight.
and it showed nuts and seeds in Phase 1; however folks here are saying no nuts/seeds till Phase 4?
That's because it's the new Atkins, not written by Dr. Atkins himself, only his name.
They're trying to capture clients formally eating lots of carbs like the Weight Watchers refugees who believed Oprah, that they couple keep their bread!
** If you have decided to stay in Induction longer than 2 weeks, you may swap out 3g NC of other foundation vegetables for 3g NC of nuts or seeds. Do not let your Foundation Vegetable levels drop below 12g NC.
So technically .. nuts aren't allowed during the first two weeks of Phase 1, which parallels Dr. Atkins' original 14-day Induction. Nuts are allowed in Phase 2 (a.k.a. OWL or Ongoing Weight Loss). Please see the sticky thread near the top of this subforum Phase 2: OWL.
in a 14 oz can of turnip greens there are 4 grams carb and 3 grams fiber per serving ~ 3 servings per can. if I eat the whole can, that's 3 grams net carb or 12 grams ttl carb. which one do I apply for 1st 2 wks of induction?
Is anyone on here familiar with Purecane? It's a sugar that has been fermented with a bacterial culture to produce Reb B which is found in minute quantities in Stevia.
I'm wondering if it would work in place of Splenda (which I decided long ago not to use due to the chlorine in it)?
If it has zero digestible carbs--most artificial sweeteners come bulked, with about a gram of digestible sugar per package--it's probably okay. You probably get more chlorine/chloride in you diet from table salt than you'd ever get from splenda, though.
