I see the logic of this. And because it is planned, there is no huge guilt/disappointment/failure self dialogue over it. When you do mess up some where down the road (and it will happen), it isn’t a huge thing, it is a slight slip and you pick yourself up and keep on going.
And having an off-plan treat once in a while is so much easier to live long term with than “Thou shalt never taste that again!” Just thinking the biblical finger wagging on a food makes me want it more!
I see every diet plan has this same theory attached to it. WW has the extra 35 points per week for a splurge or slip up.
