It's all about choices. I choose to follow a low carb eating plan, because while I might need to take some supplements, my over all health is still way better than it was on a low fat diet.
Having said that, it is certainly possible to get all the necessary nutrients from your diet. For example, I suspect those who wind up deficient in Vitamin C are not eating enough Vit C rich vegies. It helps to use Fitday and check "reports" to see how you are doing with the necessary nutrients.
I wrote the poem, because those complaints do happen. I thought it was a simple way to point out what can be done to fix any problems. Of course, I should point out that a huge number of people don't have any problems at all.
The other thing I should point out is that many low fat dieters have similar problems.
