I am not in menopause, but close, at age 51. In fact, I just had a period after six months without. It started two weeks after I started low carb, so I am wondering if the reduction in blood glucose (I was running at pre-diabetic levels) stabilized my estrogen/progesterone too.

So, I can't really properly answer your question, but I will say that this past winter, with central heating, I was having a terrible time with hot flashes. Every time the heat went on, wherever I was, I had to remove layers or go outside. They stopped after it warmed up and no more heating the house/office. This was the only time I have ever had a problem with hot flashes.
