I lost 5 lbs in three years on a standard diet, from 189 to 184. Since I started low carb/grain free in August of 2013, I've lost another 35 lbs, and am below 150 for the first time in well over 2 decades.

I'm hypothyroid, and thought that was the reason I couldn't seem to lose. Nope. It was the carbs!

I stay below 20 grams of carbs a day, usually below 10. I eat mostly meat, eggs and some dairy, mostly HWC, and a few veggies most days.

I DID regain 12 of the first 20 I'd lost, over a tough winter when I gave myself the excuse to eat a bunch of dried fruit. But since the spring of last year, I lost that 12 and another 15. So, a little better than a pound a month. Which is still MUCH better than every 7 months, and then nothing!
