Default chasing one bad habit with the other

I gained 20 lb when I quit smoking >10 years ago, then went low carb and lost about 25 lbs. I always had a cigarette here and there, and for 10 years it worked, but recently someone gave me a case, and slowly, I have started again... 2-3 cigarettes a day.... but... I also lost weight

Now I am terrified as I am really happy that I fit again in my clothes from >10 years ago, but I also don't like to become a smoker again... so, I am determined to not buy new ones, and to seriously quit ... again... when this case is done.

Maybe its a silly question at a lowcarber forum - is low carb helping particularly when trying to stop smoking? It is clear that stop smoking and weight gain go together...
