Hey Linnea! a cow is a lot of work unless you have help (I run my place alone), but there's nothing in the world like fresh Jersey cream... though Guernsey cow owners say the same thing. If you don't know much about dairy cows, the best board I've found for dairy cow information and help is Keeping the Family Cow. Excellent site and very helpful members!

I see you weigh only 135 lbs, Lala. As one gets close to one's goal, one does have to consider calories, and one stick of butter is over 800 cals; multiple sticks of butter have that many times more calories. It's also possible that you are eating too much protein and carbs for all the butter you are consuming. Are you tracking your intake on Fitday or other program? If not, tracking might help.

Much as I love butter, it's probably not wise to consume multiple sticks of it. On the other hand, if you are new to LC and are craving good butter, it's possible you are good fat-deficient.
