While at the grocery store the other day, I wandered past the frozen gluten-free section of the bakery and found myself opening the freezer door and taking out a loaf of Udi's whole wheat bread. I bought it once many, many years ago but wasn't impressed. Thinking it might be better now, after years to improve the recipe, I bought it. Had 2 slices, toasted, with eggs and sausage this morning. Still unimpressed, and when I read the ingredients listing, I know I won't be buying it again. Tapioca starch, brown rice flour, canola oil, cane sugar, tapioca maltodextrin, tapioca syrup ....

Total carbs at 19 grams, 1 gram fiber, and 2 grams added sugar.

I probably won't even finish the small loaf. It was $4.99, I think.
