I have been working on the guilt part and allowing myself to have a few off days or weeks and tell myself that it will pass. I feel a lot of guilt because I could be a better owner to my dog, groom him more often or walk him more often.

I agree that depression doesn't care about the reality of how good your life is or not.

The fear is real too, my family is plagued by genetic high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, you name it. I hope low carb will see me through without all the struggles I saw with my grandmothers and my mom.

You want to fight to be there for your family and that is a great thing to remind yourself of every time you need strength.

I have been off and on plan several times, and the first weeks are the hardest. Then the confidence that I can do this returns.
