Default For Pete's Sake: Eggs Again

Just when we were so happy with the marvelous egg:

Then a report in JAMA of a very thorough long-term analysis involving nearly 30,000 men and women initially free of cardiovascular disease suggested otherwise. The researchers, headed by Victor W. Zhong of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, found that eating as little as one-half an egg a day could increase a person’s risk of heart disease, stroke and premature death.
This was reported by our old friend Jane Brody in the NYT on April 22.

The rest of the article which you can read Here does NOT support any kind of panic as to egg eating. Oh, maybe if you ate your 1/2 daily egg with hash browns, white toast and strawberry jam you'd have a problem. In fact, several paragraphs actually support the health benefits of eating eggs. So why the scary headlines?? Ms. Brody must need some ink.

Please do carry on. Consult your health care provider about your particular challenges.
