I did low-carb starting when I was 14 because my dad got the Atkins book (for him) and then I read it. I didn't have any weight to lose, but the science behind Atkins explained made much more sense to me than the low-fat dogma that was shoved down my throat via the food guide pyramid at school. It intrigued me that people who I trusted (probably) had it all wrong.
