Default Ramadan

I'm extending greetings and good wishes to our friends here observing the Ramadan fast. I don't happen to be Muslim. But those of us here who have observed fasting for other reasons can sometimes attest to the spiritual benefits as well.

An article in the Lifestyle pages of my local newspaper provided tips for making the Ramadan fast more comfortable. I wish it had NOT said, "Avoid extreme diets like Keto and Atkins."

Wouldn't people who are fasting like to know that following a very low carbohydrate way of eating helps eliminate hunger during those non-eating intervals? Also, eating plenty of good fats, along with good proteins and vegetables, provides plenty of energy.

Fasting is a good spiritual discipline. And a good dietary one, if you so choose.

Blessings all.
