I guess I should up my game.

Consistency is in my favor, as I'm doing my weight workout faithfully three times a week--different body parts. But it really isn't enough to progress in strength. Just barely enough to convince me that I'm doing "something." I hope I never have to "pummel" an intruder. But (s)he'll have to be able to catch me running up three flights of stairs.

I believe that being free of back pain and joint pain--and the ability to get up and down those stairs--is helped by a lifetime of weight bearing exercise. Once upon a time, I even had shapely arms. Now, I think about doing squats and deadlifts to keep my legs strong enough to get up and down off a toilet.

Oh, and we have a lot of stairs.

I'll give more thought to challenging weight loads.
