I'm finding Atkins as a veggie so restrictive outside of my home. Last night I went for Chinese with friends and it was a lot of effort to make sure the dish was veggie in the first place (the waiter's English was poor) that by the time I'd dealt with that I didn't feel I could go into questions on corn starch etc. So my dish that sounded ideal came out deep fried like tempeh.

I like to socialise, no specific cuisine, the generic gastro pub type fare (that frequently involves pasta or risotto), italian, thai, mexican, indian etc...

Also, at the moment I am able to take lunch to work but in the future I'll be travelling a lot and staying in hotels. I find that my diet is enough of an issue and I hate coming across as really fussy. Its different with family or close friends but colleagues find it tiresome.

What I'm really wondering is:
I'm going to need to be less rigid and do the best I can to avoid being a recluse. What is the best way to get back to ketosis? Should I avoid high fat for a day or two or go straight for it again? Isn't eating high fat and some carbs counter productive?
