I think Imus should have been reprimanded, certainly, but firing him was not necessary, IMO. He said something stupid, something REALLY stupid about young women doing positive things with their lives (going to college, playing sports). Saying negative things about celebrities is one thing - putting yourself 'out there' for public scrutiny is, after all, part of the deal. These women are not celebrities, they are college kids.
