Hi there. I'm in Dublin too and I re-started on March 13, doing well so far, down about 8 lbs but my specs need changing and it's quite hard to read the scales from 5ft away! Anyway, waistbands are more comfortable and I feel much better, so I'm happy. Getting back to your trip, I'd suggest leaving the black pudding (blood sausage) and white pudding alone, and skip the sausages - they're good but high in cereal fillers. That still leaves you with bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes etc., all nice for breakfast. I've started having cold meats for breakfast too, with cucumber, lettuce and mayonnaise and find it very tasty, refreshing and a change. We do very good smoked salmon here, and some of the farmed varieties are tasty and good value. It makes a great meal at any time, with mayo, olives, cucumber and other salad items. If you're eating out then steak, fish, chicken etc., with vegetables or salad would be your best bet - frankly it's so expensive to dine out here that you won't want desserts, you'll be too busy thinking of the credit card bill!

I don't think you'll have any problem here but remember that cooking with some butter, and ours is GOOD, e.g. scrambled eggs or omelettes, improves the flavour so much, that it doesn't feel like a diet and it's also very satisfying.

I hope you and your husband have a brilliant trip home and that everything works out well for you.

Good luck and keep the faith,
Janmaree.
