HDL below 32 I think is considered low. It will rise slowly if you:
a) Eat plenty of saturated fat
b) Don't smoke
c) Exercise a little
d) Don't drink too much (not sure if that's true, going from memory!)
VLDL is bad, so having it go down is very good.
It can take a long, long time for HDL to rise, so be patient.
