Aged meat is not fetid meat.

Be Careful. Humans cannot eat fetid meat. A dog can, usually. Our ability to safely eat rotting food is low.

Also, because my family lives on a farm I can assure you NO meat lasts for more than 24-48 hours. When a wild hawk kills a chicken, its picked clean in 48 hrs. No time to spoil. When we kill a rat, its tossed for the hawks to find. Even they dont touch well rotted rats. They take the fresh rats.

Maybe long long ago humans ate old meat but we are not the same now. We have adapted to cooked meats for too many generations.

Fermented meats are a curing method that prevents spoilage. We dont eat spoiled meats. See how fast its thrown up!!
