I predict that the Internet will shake up medicine as it has so many other areas of our lives. The criteria for getting into medical school, nursing, even veterinary colleges, was being able to memorize giant chunks of "official" information and drag it out of storage when needed.

Now... that same function is actually better with the smart phone in so many hands. Imagine a pair of glasses with a hearing aid that does the same job... and a lot more people can be that kind of doctor, no?

Yes, some of intelligence is the retention of information. But even more important intelligence is actually using it.
