Do not belittle the impact of STRESS. This affects cortisol and sleep, which in turn influences how our body's hormone systems react. Survival instincts sense trouble ahead, and at least my body concludes that famine might be an issue. Boom! Pants get tighter
Also, I was astonished by the foods I thought were "fine" and turn out to be highly problematic. It could be worth exploring an elimination diet of some kind, or at least drop the ones you are craving.
This can actually be a sign these are trouble foods.
