My question is, was the Niacin the problem or the Laropiprant or the combination of the two.

The test was done with the combination of the two, so the results do not implicate niacin, but the combination.

Laropiprant is made by Merck who has had a long history of mass murder. Their drug Vioxx in clinical trials proved that people taking Vioxx over naproxen (Aleve) had a 500 times greater chance of getting a heart attack. The drug ended up killing more Americans in 5 years than the entire Viet Nam war did.

I'm sure you can OD on niacin if you take to much, you can OD on vitamin C too, but I suspect that there is some irresponsible journalism going on here.

More information and a test with Niacin only are needed.
