It's not paleo, of course, but I think that's where that ol' 80/20 (or 90/10) rule comes into play: as long as most of what you eat is paleo, don't sweat every single detail. I agree. Make it your own while still following. I still do products that have milk in them (like mayo/ranch), and cheese. Sometimes you gotta realize that life is what you make it, and if you're really strict most of the time, you're still just living your life and making compromises at other junctions.
