Regarding carbs and fruit etc. I found out that I had an intolerance to casein about 4 years into doing low carb/high fat that included a lot of dairy. I have added back in fruit to my diet and find it has absolutely no effect on my appetite or the scale. I was terrified to start eating it again imagining I would just be hungry all the time. It was the wheat and grains that did that to me, not fruit. What I'm saying is that sometimes the TYPE of food not the carbs or whatever is what matters regarding cravings and weight gain.
I managed to gain weight eating VLC (including lots of cheese!) so carbs are not the only thing that can affect you - for me dairy was the deal breaker with a low carb diet - especially cow cheese.
