I tried this recipe today. Noy what I was expecting but I love it none the less.

I modified the recipe slightly.

I didn't use any sweetener . . . the apple sauce was sweet enough.

I also used a combination of rolled oats and steel cut oats (1/2 and 1/2) and added some ground seeds (next time I might add some flax. hmmm).

I added dried apple and apricots.

I've cut it into 6 pieces and will have one piece a day. As with the amount of fruit in it, I think one slice/piece willl count as a full fruit serving.

It tastes lovely. I can see this becoming one one of my favourites.

Am I right in saying that each one is 1/3 of a grain/starch serving?
