Designers could care less how thin the models are. As long as they fit into the itty-bitty sample sizes and can walk good enough in it, they'll be hiring thin models until the end of time. Making the sizes bigger is not an option either because that means using up more of that $9,000 a yard fabric and when you're a designer, you're trying to spend as little as possible while making the line look as expensive as possible.
