Is there a reliable quick start guide?
Mom has done Atkins in the past, has the book, and is planning on reading it through, but would like to start induction on Monday. Is there a quick start guide that she can refer to until she goes through the book?

If you go to the Atkins website, you can register and use the quick start kit for free. Atkins 20 is very much the same as the New Diet Revolution book. https://www.atkins.com/register?mcid=HHOM

The rules for induction from Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution are in the first post of this sticky thread in the Atkins forum here

Thank you so much! :) I'll send these on to Mom.

If your mom is doing the Atkins' original 1972 version, here's a document I created for that version for our HC A '72 thread:
A '72 Induction Acceptable Foods List, "No No's" and other Notes |
Hi Jo, was going to read document but link broken, I think you need to edit out an href or something here's the code that is spitting out>

It's working NOW! |
Atkins 20 online is not the same as reading the Induction thread at the top of the forum here. I'd suggest you do it from the instructions listed here..it is from Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution.
Atkins 20 online always many more carbs during induction ..having you count "net carbs" it also pushes Atkins frankenfoods... bars,, shakes.. things that stall weight loss. I started out on Atkins 20 and didn't get very far...then I followed induction rules listed here and in the New Diet Revolution book and have done much better. |
Another simple quick-start guide is on DietDoctor, which through various updating over the past 50 years, is based on the clinic diet used by Dr Westman, which is based on the clinic diet used by Dr Atkins around 1990, and in the Gary Taubes book, Why We Get Fat. http://www.kostdoktorn.se/wp-conten...starch_diet.pdf
Or https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb |
I second the DietDoctor website. It consolidates all effective methods into an easy-to-follow format. Very valuable.

Okay, thanks, y'all! I'm sending her the link for this thread. :)
