Miracle Rice ~ Konnyaku Rice

Okay, I'm excited. I ordered some Miracle rice this weekend and I can't wait for it to arrive.

I've searched and searched online for reviews for Miracle Rice, but didn't really come up with anything except for what's provided on the site. So I am anxious to receive the konnyaku rice and hope that I really love it in my dishes as a rice substitute.

Well, looking forward to my delivery and I will post my Miracle Rice review soon.

Miracle Rice ~ Konnyaku Rice

I am allergic to regular rice anyway, so I would love to know how this is, it would be great to make stuffed cabbage with if it is not nasty, ;)

I finally tried the miracle noodles and they're fantastic. Can't wait to hear how the miracle rice is.

I tried the noodles and they were okay except for the texture...The rice might be better...Please let us know what you think after you've tried it.

Yeah! My Miracle Rice has arrived!

For dinner tonight, I'm going to try them first in a Spicy Cajun Jambalaya dish with Chicken and Hot Louisiana Sausage.

I'll let you know how it comes out. I can't wait. I hope it works out as well as I think it will. :p  :p

Does it look anything like rice? I just can't imagine it I guess, knowing about konnyaku lol. I always see blocks of it and it is this grayish, spotted black gelatinous mass. I suppose since it is tasteless it is good for this but I wonder how they work the texture for rice lol. I am so curious!!

Totally Induction Friendly Rice

Okay, everybody I know you've been waiting and my results are in for my first dish using induction friendly miracle rice.

This rice gets two thumbs up.

My spicy cajun jamabalaya dish turned out absolutely wonderful. :yum:

I had to stop myself from eating the whole pot since I made a large pot to last at least 3 days.

So yes. It was great! This will be a keeper for me. :D

FYI:

Before placing the miracle rice in my expensive pot of jambalaya and of course, after cleaning the rice I just tried tasting it plain by itself just to see how it would taste and to get a feel for the texture.

Of course, it had no taste, but what was surprising was the texture. The texture is good which I know that's what most are concerned about. There is no fishy smell once you follow the cleaning/rinse/blanch & dry directions. There wasn't a strong fishy smell to begin with, but I like fish so I guess I'm a lil' bias on that one...you'll have to see for yourself.

When I tasted my jambalaya it wasn't all these wonderful taste and then a yuckie rubber rice taste messin' up the whole dish.

The rice actually blended in with the rest of the dish and took on the flavor of the dish. So there was no rubber texture that stood out. Just looked and taste like rice to me. :yum:

So of course, you'll have to test for yourself since we know everybody has individual taste. :p

I'll be doing more dishes with the rice. I want to do it more as a stand alone dish with just very few veggies in it if any at all. I want to see how it stands on it's own as a side dish with just butter, salt and pepper and I want to do a stir-fry with it too.

So, lots of fun to be had testing different rice dishes. I'll let you know how that goes too once I finish all this jambalaya.

Thanks for the information! I am glad it turned out!

I just made the shirataki noodles and I didn't mind them at all! I am going to play around with them to see what I can make. I am going to see if I can track down some of this 'rice'.
