Hello from Singapore

Hello all you LC-ers out there - I'm so glad that I found this forum. It's always great to have support out there. Anyway, I just moved to Singapore from NY City (Home of the late Dr. Atkins). Needless to say, being in an Asian country is very difficult on a low-carb dieter. After dabbling in Atkins from 2001, I started being serious about it late last year, and got to my goal weight of 135. Since I've moved here though, I've gained everything back, and after months of hesitation, I bought the new Atkins for Life book, and decided to start again. I'm so glad that I found this forum, because I'm going to need all the support I can get.

I'm Asian-American, and being surrounded by skinny Asians who gorge themselves on rice and noodles is extremely difficult.

So anyway, seems like everyone out there is very encouraging. Keep an eye out for me!

Welcome to the forum Xartemis! :) We have another member from Singapore who just recently joined so you two could probably give each other lots of support.

Welcome

Hi Xartemis

Welcome to this forum.

What a coincidence, as Karen has just said, I've just responded to a new member from Singapore. You need to get intouch with each other for support.

I wish you every success. You know from experience that low carbing works and that you can get there. Just keep focussed on what you are eating and you will lose those extra pounds again.

Question about Agar Agar (Kanten)

Can somebody tell me, whether i can eat agar agar desserts (with aspartaam sugar = NO real sugar)?
How many carbs are there in agar agar, cos i can't find the information anywhere.

Please help.

Hullo there,

Agar agar is made of virtually all protein as far as I know, so yes, you can eat it. It has no carbs according to this site.

Cheers.
