Great topping for steaks

I have used this before I knew anything about LC'ing. My guests at BBQ's love it!

Cream Cheese 2oz (softened)
Butter 2tbls (softened)
garlic ( to taste ...fresh preferably, but works with powder too)
parsley enough to give mix a pretty color

You can adjust the ingredients as needed to taste.

(Mix all ingredients, refrigerate)
Put on top of a steak right off the grill or out of the oven.

Can also be used on chicken.

Does it work with just cream cheese? Without the butter and garlic?

Hi Benay, this is a very old thread, and the OP has not visited the forum since 2002.

You could certainly try it with just cream cheese, although I think maybe adding some spices of some sort might help. :)

I tried the cream cheese alone without any of the additives and my steak was great! Thanks for the suggestion.

I don't have many spices in the house and avoid any hint of garlic. But thanks for the suggestion. The cream cheese alone was a great help.

I used to love steak - my favorite food - but the older I become the more tasteless protein has become, so anything that makes it more palatable is a great boon!
