Hi I'm from Singapore

Hi guys..... I'm from Singapore....and i have been using Atkin's diet for quite some time, even back in 1998. My cousin gave me the Atkins book that chged my life and even chged my health!

Though there are times that I can't totally follow this diet, esp when i was still schooling. But now i am back on the Atkins diet to lose further weight and get back to better health. Fortunately, thru'out the period when i didnt go by Atkin's diet I still managed to maintain my weight.

When I started using this diet for at least 6 mths,I lost a total of 16 kg. A far cry from what other diets I tried. However, its considered spending more money on eating what is permitted on the diet (my mom complains).

When i started a new phase of schooling, I did not know how to deal with outside eating, and hence I didnt exactly follow the diet that closely. Sweets and rice got me back....but thank God i maintained my weight by controlling food amts.

Now that i am working, i have reverted to the atkin's diet. though it means i have to eat less of the wide variety of foods here, but i am seeing results. But seriously, places like Singapore & Malaysia are food paradises! = P

I've still got abt 19 kg to go, my target weight is 50kg.. ;)

Singapore - Paradise on Earth !

Hi Fumih

Singapore - Wow! I have always considered Singapore to be Paradise on Earth and anyone who lives there as someone who must have been verrrrrry good in a past life!!!

I know what you mean about {seriously, places like Singapore & Malaysia are food paradises! = P } : only I would not restrict it to food alone.

Wiser to keep it in check rather than ignore the problem until it becomes too much and life-threatening before deciding to do something about it - albeit 50 kg seems very LOW for your height.

Take care. Will be reading your posts so tell us about your life there!

Hi Fiona,

Abt targetting at 50kg, I think shld be fine...coz i am not of a big built...Asians are not that big sized....In fact, I've gotten my mom's genes so she's short n small...~ hovering abt 45kg (??)

Yah you can say Singapore is indeed a good place.. Good security, good food.... good and bad points.

But the variety of foods in Singapore is really wide...because there are a lot of international food and they are convenient. So in fact, usually I head to fast food restaurants or sashimi outlets... last time i tried some foods from the food court, but it seem that it has lots of hidden carbohydrates in those seemingly "harmless" foods...

:o hard to control... ;)

Hi Fumih,

You certainly do live in a beautiful part of the world. I've wanted to see it for a while. The closest I ever got was Indonesia, but my ex-boyfriend goes to Singapore about every 2 years--His comments matched yours "good food, good security"

Welcome to the "neighborhood"
