Now that I made it through induction I'm ready to get my butt back into action. My sore knee gave me some problems for the past month or two so I've been sitting it out waiting for it to get better. But I'm on a mission and now I'm ready to start
1/16/12 I started my One Month Exercise Challenge - exercise M-F 30min - 1hr each day and possibly throw in a routine on Sat & Sun. The gym I use to belong to closed down and I have no motivation to get up and walk the park right now. So, I went on line pulled some exercise routines and I'm going to stick with them. Day 2
I'm beginning to feel the aches from yesterday's exercises...and although I was careful I may have put too much pressure on my knee while doing jumping jacks today. I'll know by tomorrow.

- 15 Minute Ultimate Abs Workout Exercise (same as day 1) - 30 Day Shred - level 1 day 1 Lots of improvising due to sore knee; had to do low impact jumping jacks & definitely couldn't 'kick butt' so I sort of did tiny running steps! (something is better than nothing) :-) |

Zumba (pending how my knee feel) I guess I should note here, because I injured my knee slightly, it's difficult doing high impact exercises. When doing Shred I have to improvise, i.e. - low impact jumping jacks (alternate moving each leg individually) - low impact jump rope (keep toes on floor & lift heel only) - low impact kick butt (jog in place lifting feet slightly) - low impact lunges (bend knees only a few inches) Strange enough, while I can't bend my knees to do lunges, I have no problem doing squats, although I can't get down as low as I would like. Maybe, it's because when doing lunges all of the weight is on one knee, whereas, with squats the weight is distributed evenly between both knees. |

Zumba - 30 min I wondering if it's worth me continuing Zumba with my bum knee. The dance requires a lot of knee movement which I can't do right now. I'll make a decision by Saturday. |

Shred Level 1 (day 7, 3 more days before starting Level 2) yippie!
Zumba - 30 min I have to twist my knee too much for Zumba, which leaves me limping some evenings, so when I move to Level 2 Shred; I'll also look for a replacement for Zumba. |

I couldn't find my knee brace to do zumba last night, but when I woke up this morning realized my knee wasn't as sore as usual. So until my knee is completely better I'll just stick with Shred for now.

Exercise Challenge Day 13
Completed Shred 1 and decided to give Lvl 2 a shot. Definitely more difficult and I had to do lots of modification :lol: I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to keep up, but for now I'm up to the challenge.

Exercise Challenge Day 14
Shred 2 - I'm trying to keep the exercises low impact by dong modifications, but I'm finding my knee is aching quite a bit once through exercise. Don't want to stop, so I'll keep monitoring to see what I'm doing that might be aggravating my knee.

I could barely keep up; also realized because you're required to get up & down throughout the routine, it's taking a toll on my knee. It's really aching this morning. :-( |
