Green coffee extract

Dr. Oz showed a pure green coffee extract. He said a study was done where people took two green coffee extract pills a day and didn't do anything different with their diets and over a 12-16 week span they lost an average of 10% of their body weight.

Does anyone know anything about this? Is it ligit? I don't trust much of Dr. Oz's advice because I find him to be wrong more often that right. But this may be worth trying.

That must be pure s**t, excuse my french. If any kind of natural extract could have that effect, then there would be a huge reduction in weight related diseases. 10% of your bodyweight is a huge amount. Taking the average person to weight 150 pounds thats 15 lb's of fat which is 61'000 kcals, in relation to fat. Not going to happen!

I find people that take green tea extract and the like, expect miracles and allow themselves to eat the chocolate which in fact produces a huge surplus of calories. However you can search for studies that document green tea extracts but the increase metabolic rate works out to be around 40 calories per day max, however eating well this does add up.

When you say Dr. Oz I am assuming you mean the column in the Time Magazine?

I did look this up and the article I found said the people lost a few pounds--not 10%. Dr. Oz, on his TV show, often says things that I find to be totally false.
