Pepperoni Chips

Pepperoni Chips

Thinly slice pepperoni
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Lay the pepperoni slices in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.

Remove the pan from the oven and soak up the excess grease by pressing paper towels against the pepperoni chips. Return the pan to the oven and bake an additional 2 to 4 minutes, until the pepperoni slices are very crispy.

Serve as a snack anytime or use in place of crackers for dipping or for topping with your favorite cheese! They'll stay fresh and crispy for 1 to 2 days if you store them in an airtight container.

This sounded great...thought I would share

I do this in the microwave too. Also some cheese chips to go with it.

You can also do these in the microwave. They crisp up faster than the oven and with less mess.

How long do you nuke em? I'm cooking impaired, so this sounds like a great snack idea for me. Love my pepperoni.

Hum... I've never actually timed then. Set the microwave for 2 minutes (this is for a dinner plate size full) and keep an eye on them. If they're not crispy yet, keep going in 30 second increments. Next time I make some I'll keep an eye on the time.

I saw these on George Stella's "Low carb and loving it." They were delicious. If you don't like the spiciness of the pepperoni (baking concentrates the flavors), try some salami instead. It works just as well, without the kick.

I've been making pepperoni chips the last few days. I LOVE pepperoni but I'm not a big fan of it cold so this is PERFECT. My fav part of a pepperoni pizza is the crispy pepperoni's anyways, LoL. Boy I wish my friend would give me a 10lb bag of pepperoni! LoL.

I just lay a couple of slices (like 10-15) on a plate and nuke them for 1 min. Nice and crisp!

I nuke about an ounce of pepperoni on high for about a minute. You need to check, though........doesn't take much to turn them from crisp to a black smoking mess! (ummmm, who did this? :) )

They are EXCELLENT tossed into your favorite salad, esp. w/some cheese and hard-boiled egg. :yum:

When I make these, I layer the pepperoni slices between paper towels on a microwave-safe plate. Then I nuke them for about 1 minute, 15 seconds (I have a whimpy microwave, though....) The paper towels keep the grease from splattering and makes clean-up a snap! Very yummy!!!

Yummy

This also works with your fav type of salami. I like alot of garlic so I get garlic salami and nuke it.

They are really good with a little plain cream cheese spread on top! Yum!

Oh, also... if you are making them in the microwave, sometimes they tend to "bowl"... which can be a good thing if you are using them to dip... but... If you want them to remain flat, layer in the following manner and they will remain flat: plate, paper towel, pepperoni, paper towel, plate. The weight of the plate on top will force them to cook flat.

What type of pepperoni do you guys buy? I can't find any without dextrose sugar!

Plus must of them don't even have a nutrition label.
