Of course they are, because they have infiltrated by big corporate farm people, serving the farm industry instead of the consumers.

More than one government consumer protection agency has gone that way.

I agree with Bob, and the solution is not letting corporations farm on an inhumane scale. It reaches far beyond the eating of meat. Monsanto creates monocultures where every stage is drenched in herbicides and pesticides because it doesn't hurt the plant.

Just whoever eats it...

There is a movie called "The Biggest Little Farm" that chronicles how a family turned a barren, overworked, corporate farm into a productive farm where the different plants and animals all work together to benefit each other. This is how farming should be done. And it's quite entertaining as well.
