A recent one in this sub-forum is: http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=467926

There weren't any JUDDers here anymore until you guys moved over.

Jess

so you are doing JUDDD?

jessdamess Tue, Apr-10-18 09:28

Not currently. I have done it. I may be doing it for awhile after a maintenance break since my body is being a stubborn-head and refused to lose anything over 6 weeks at low calories.

I had a friend who only did JUDDD. But she left the forum over disagreements back in 2015. She was a headstrong gal.

Yeah, Janet! Love the hair!

JUDDD stands for Johnson's Up-Day/Down-Day protocol. It's like alternate day fasting. There's a calc to help you figure out what your calorie levels should be. The idea is that on a Down Day, you eat under 500 cal. But the next day, you can eat much higher. So achieveing your calorie deficit might be easier for some, plus it activates some of the benefits of fasting, without having to do it for longer stretchs of time in a row.

They find that instead of a having to eat extremely low cals EVERYDAY, they only have to do it for one day, then the next they get more than they would have on a low-all-the-time plan. I used it to finally hit my goal weight in 2015 after months of my scale being a complete, lazy jerk. Now that I'm trying to relose, and my body isn't responding, I'll try it again I think to see if the scale will finally start. I'll probably start next week.
