Where to find good LC foods in Australia

Hi guys, first post here, as you've probably guessed Im from Australia, Sydney to be exact.

I've been on phase 1 for almost a week now and so far so good. One thing I have found is all the "Atkins" foods aren't available here easily and getting them shipped from the US isn't cheap. Although I can buy normal LC foods from my supermarket I'd like to be able to get things like the food bars and things like pork rinds which seem hard to get here.

Are there any other aussies here that could recommend places to shop for LC foods? Or possibly Australian based LC sites??

Thanks

Hi there Ozleg, welcome!

I've moved your post to our Aussie/ NZ subforum, so you'll get a better response. ;)

Have a look through the threads that are already here, and you may find some answers even before any Sydneyites come along to help you.

Cheers. :)

ozleg, you might be interested to know that many people have found the low carb specialty products cause them to stall. the atkins gear is sold at GNC health stores and is uber expensive, it's hardly worth it and if you serach on the net, you can find plenty of sub recipes.
you are also on induction which means you should eat as clean as possible. all the extra stuff in my opinion should be treats, used sparingly.
good luck

Hi ozleg I am from western sydney and I have searched high and low for low carb products. So far I have found pork rinds in woolies, coles & franklins. I find the health food sections of the supermarkets are good for some things. If you are looking for a special chockie treat cadbury have a lite bar that is low in carbs and tastes just like the real thing, just be careful with quantities. :yay:

Must be only select woolies, I asked last night at my local one and the lady told me it was a discontinued line, will try coles today.

For the choc fix I found the Darrell Lea sugar free stuff is pretty good

Hi everyone, so nice to see a aussie site for LC. I'm new to this site and love LC, never felt as good since starting LC.

depending on what you are looking for you can get lots of good stuff at either
lowcarbcentral.com.au or lowcarbzone.com.au there have been a few others at different times but doesn't seem to be anymore.

Try some health foods shops around as well, I have always found the people in the health food shops really helpful when I have asked for help with low carb foods, some have even gotten in some stuff for me when I enquired about it.

I also found some low carb (sugarfree) lollies and chocolates in my local IGA (Brisbane), but have found not every single on has them.

Also - Terry White Chemists have Tony Fergusson stuff, some of which is low carb
