Food Question?
I 'm sure this has been asked somewhere, but I can't find the answer.
If for instance I get a plate of curry with potatoes in it, or a bowl of chili with beans in it, etc. etc., if I pick out the beans or potatoes, am I still getting carbs from the rest of the dish? I mean does "carb juice" leech into the rest of the food in the pot, if so to what extent? Hope I made that somewhat clear. Thanks |
Yep, there's a bit. But, if doing that keeps you on your food plan, I say, why not? We have to make steps we can live with.

That's a good question! I wondered that in the case if my wife made a slow cooker roast beef and potatoes, does the beef soak up some starch?

I’d say Auntie Em’s answer is still the best we got. Pick out the potatoes and carrots, peas or whatnot and chow down. |
Watch thickeners though - there are definitely carbs in flour, corn starch, potato starch or anything else that may have been added to thicken the gravy/sauce.
mmmm curry.... |
