Hi Hanan - welcome to the Canada sub-forum.

If you search here (use "advanced search as search is disabled) you can find places to shop and online shopping.

You can make almost any restaurant work for LCHF if you are very clear with the server what you want. I sometimes go to White Spot for breakfast and have Eggs Benny - hold the English muffin and hash browns, sub in tomatoes.

Ask away here for things specific to Canada and in other sub-forums for more generic things like what supplements to use.

Best of luck on your WOL.

Hi Hanan. I grew up in Mississauga.

Yes, we answer lots of posts like that. Feel free to either use the search engine like Julie suggested, or start a new thread with a specific question.

I think my favorite place to shop is the Real Canadian Superstore. They have the supplements I use at a good price, often good prices on basic groceries (I check flyers every week), and lots of ethnic groceries that make this WOE easier. Examples of things I pick up in the international aisle: tahini, coconut oil, gluten-free tamari (same as soy sauce), lots of interesting sauces, curry paste, coconut milk, konnyaku noodles... probably many other things I'm forgetting.

(ETA) Another favorite store for LC basics is Bulk Barn. Some things I buy there: cocoa powder, coconut flour, almond flour, flax seeds.

Hi From Alberta!

Where I get a majority of my low carb food:
Costco (meat, cheese)
Bulk Barn (almond flour, depending on price)
Superstore (Veggies)
Walmart: Pork Rinds...no one else here in Edmonton carries them anymore

As for eating out, it can be a bit of a crapshoot...

McDonalds, I usually get one of their 'build your own burger' Cheese, mayo, mustard, onions, pickles and get them to put it on a lettuce wrap. And a large Coke Zero.

Boston Pizza, Their boneless wings...a bit pricy, but it's all meat.

Online purchases: Haven't really bought anything online at all.

You can get shiritaki noodles at the larger Asian stores like T&T supermarket

John

Hanan, 35% cream is heavy cream. I've heard of higher percentage heavy cream, but I've never seen any in our grocery stores. I've seen it mentioned on European doctors' blogs.

I've seen clotted cream sold in jars, but that's a different product.

Thank you cause i search like crazy and i ask one of the worker in walmart and he was like what are you talking about? :D

UK heavy cream (double cream) is 47.5%, but I doubt you can get hold of any of that.

Clotted cream is for spreading - a cross between butter and cream and is 60%.

Hello from Ontario...what you want is fresh whipping cream. Sealtest brand is in the yellow carton. It is 35% fat. Copy link below to see a picture of the carton.

https://www.google.ca/search?q=seal...vnjMBLURhQtM%3A

It is expensive, but 1 only use 1 tsp in my tea.

As for restaurants, I find sometimes I have to use appetizers to make up a meal, like a Caesar salad and grilled shrimp screws or wings. But you are almost always safe ordering a burger and not eating the bun with a side salad ;)

All whipping cream in Canada is 35% fat! or it won't whip!
