How many LC attempts have you made, counting this time?

For me, this is my second try, though the first one was a 3-week aborted attempt about 10 years ago.

This is my second try, im 37 days in. The first was a couple months ago, and i can tell by the state of mind im in this time, that this time its going to stick. Its not like im more resolved now, its more like, ive grown out of the silly thought processes i used to have about eating and weight.

I am still on my first try (started Atkins June 2003)

Oh my goodness, I've lost count!

But this time I've lasted ~295 days without a single cheat, so it seems to be (hopefully) the last time.

Way to Go Mandra

Way to Go Mandra! What an accomplishment! Great work. You are an inspiration.

I too have been down this road in the past and for some reason I got it in my head twice (Mainstream Media) That this isn't a healthy WOE or Sustainable for life. :bash:

I realize now how wrong that is and see how it is sustainable for life and I am lucky my DH now feels the same and is happy to live and eat this way so we can live long and healthy lives together.

Yeah for Low Carb

I'm on my third and hoepfully final go-around. I like to think that I've learned from the mistakes that I made the first two times. So far so good.

Me Too Lisa! :agree:
I've done it more than 4 times but never really got that it wasn't just 'my next diet' until this last time. I've definitely learned from my mistakes and still learn daily!!

I wouldn't know how to count it. I've fallen off the wagon many times and I always come back because I feel so much healthier without carbs. Does it count as a restart every time I've had the bad judgement to drive through McD's for fries? I started in 1999 and have had many ups and downs since then.

Way To ManY To Count. :tears:

1st try, I have been on Atkins since 2006. Through a high risk pg, a velementous insertion of the umbilical cord (the cord was not inserted in the placenta). Till this day I truly believe that the only reason DD did make it to 2 kg at birth (no ICU) was because of Atkins. I had to nourish my baby, and she wasn't getting enough, so every bite had to count. No junk food, nothing, only good food. BF for 2 years (not the greatest amounts though) and lost all of the pg weight gained without effort in 5 months, back to my goal weight of 61 kg. Now I have been through 2.5 years straight of IVF cycling, and the medication causes me to gain weight each cycle. I lose between cycles but not enough. I am now 71 kg. But I am confident I can lose the weight again once I get pg and deliver.

This is my 'second time around' and my first time around was in 1973. :)

I started this again in 1998 and January 1st was my 11 years of maintaining.

I did low-carb starting when I was 14 because my dad got the Atkins book (for him) and then I read it. I didn't have any weight to lose, but the science behind Atkins explained made much more sense to me than the low-fat dogma that was shoved down my throat via the food guide pyramid at school. It intrigued me that people who I trusted (probably) had it all wrong.

Started this in 2003 and have fallen off the wagon many a time. :/

Now, we just need to send you around to allll the schools and do seminars on how you THINK and eat!! LOL That's wonderful! I spent from age 10 to age 27 being preached to about eating lots of grains and carbs and yet it never worked for me.

My second one, as well; I did great on VLC, starting in 2008, but after getting wiped out by hurricane ike, I let stress eating creep back into my life
