The Low-Carb Food Company

The Low-Carb Food Company is a new start up in the UK

Our key focus during the initial phase is to establish a core product range that we’ve been unable to find in UK supermarkets, comprising baked goods, low-carb ready meals and full-fat meat, that will provide customers with enough choice through a one-stop online shop to allow them to follow a low-carb, high-fat diet “on the go”.

We want to make it easier for people to adopt a low-carb lifestyle; curbing the effects of diabetes and minimising the need for medication, enabling weight loss without feeling hungry, and promoting general good health with low-carb staple foods.

The low-carb lifestyle has been proven to be effective at bringing diabetes and other chronic conditions into remission, aiding significant and sustainable weight loss and restoring good health and vitality. However, the lifestyle needs to be maintained to ensure the continuing benefits. We aim to build up a following of loyal customers to support their low-carb lifestyle for the long term; helping people with the practicalities of adopting and maintaining a challenging, life-changing regime.

Building upon first-hand experience of successfully implementing a low-carb lifestyle to combat type 2 diabetes, we aim to become a thriving online marketplace; a trustworthy source of products, ingredients, knowledge, recipes and services for anyone interested in reaping the benefits of a low-carb lifestyle.

WOW. Demi! Please keep us posted
I hope the UK "food police" don't force them to stop
Would love to see something like this in American markets or on-line shopping
Would be a nice change for frozen Atkins at the market
and planning home made meals

Netrition has a nice low-carb section, but I too would like to see a US shop dedicated to all things low-carb.

Have just received the following email from The Low-Carb Food Company:

At long last, we’re up and running!

lowcarbfood.co is now live and taking orders.

A small team of highly-motivated people are behind this project, and we’ve been working hard over the last few years to bring our vision of genuine low-carb products to the market to help people with the practicalities of adopting and maintaining a challenging, life-changing regime.

We know that real food cooked from scratch is the ideal, but we also know how busy people are. We’re developing our own low-carb convenience food, and aiming to stock a full range of ingredients for those who want to cook for themselves.

Our initial products include our very own low-carb bread (less than 1g of carbs per slice!) made from our very own low-carb flour blend, a small range of convenient ready meals, and a range of essential high-fat, grass-fed meat. We’re also stocking some of the best of low-carb and keto snacks that we’ve found on the market (pork crackling, biltong and 100% dark chocolate) with plenty more to come.

Starting with the basics of around 50 products, we plan to quickly move forward to bring you everything you could possibly need from one place—a thriving online marketplace; a trustworthy source of products, ingredients, knowledge, recipes and services for anyone interested in reaping the benefits of a low-carb lifestyle.

With Low Carb Food Co you can be confident that each product is what we say it is. If we say it’s low-carb, then it is. If we say it’s keto, it won’t contain any starches or grains. If we say it’s clean keto, it won’t have any artificial sweeteners, either. We’re committing to full nutritional transparency, conveniently available for each item. No more pondering on the back of a packet!

Thank you to all of you for being so patient and supportive.

The response we’ve had to the concept has been overwhelming, and it’s kept us going through some difficult times, with plenty of challenges along the way. We’re asking food manufacturers to do things never asked of them before and to use ingredients and methods that are completely new to them. We’ve had a lot of odd looks and been shown the door on several occasions, but we’ve been getting a lot of support from some unexpected places and we look forward to growing our range of products substantially in the coming months.

It's like turning a supertanker..., slow, arduous, and she's still headed in exactly the same direction after turning the wheel long ago - and eventually she'll come about.
