Gold Coast Buddy wanted

I started a thread in the journal/bootcamp section under buddies but I was just thinking that it might be a lot easier if I could find a buddy in my area.

With time differences etc, it may be harder to get certain types of support with someone in a different country.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make the whole Atkins thing easier (Says she who is feeling terribly guilty for eating 5 spoonfuls of creamy pasta salad last night!) :(

I cant help with the area buddy, as I am not at the Gold Coast, but can offer some insight.

I believe that mindset is the best you can do to make this easier. I have tried LC twice before and was pretty much miserable. I did loose some weight (unlike now  ), but my heart was not in it.
Now I am ready. Have been on this WOE for more than a month and am pretty good at controlling my cravings.
I have been reading and reading and buffing myself against sugars that now I dont feel really deprived. I see them as the enemy - bad, bad, bad :exclm: :exclm: :exclm:
When I feel some shadow of a doubt, I go and find another article on the subject and read more.

So, instead of feeling deprivation from the carbs, I feel like I am let in on a secret and special in a way.

Its late, I am not sure if this makes any sense at all :doah:

But I know one thing, if your brain is in gear, the rest is a play in the park. It worked for me when I gave up cigarettes it should work here...

Good luck and see you around.

I better go to sleep....zzzzzzz...zzz..z...

I am from the Gold Coast!

Hi Bridgette. Nice to meet you - sorry but I haven't looked here for a bit - fell of the wagon after a bad week last month and decided to jump back on...

Hi Rey :)

Thanks for becoming my local buddy. It's great to get so much support on these boards, whatever would we do without them? :D

Himo_VZ Sun, Dec-08-02 14:23

Hey, I'm on the Coast too.
Hey Rey, Vallon??

princess_K Sun, Dec-08-02 15:25

Me Too!!

Hey Bridget and Rey... I am on the coast as well!!!!

Hi Himo,

Yap I am a Vallon bunny - though I don't play much these days, Rey is generally botted. Who are you there?

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Bridgette, Princess, Emma and Himo

Anyway, with all us Coasties, we should get together and have a decaf coffee one day and compare notes, shopping, ideas etc. No hurry, as I know some ppl are shy about this stuff.

Bridget75 Mon, Dec-09-02 03:32

Yep sounds great :)

I am in the Currumbin area-ish (hope I can put that here) but anywhere to meet one day is fine.

I'm off to post in confessions. Had a bad weekend :(

Himo_VZ Mon, Dec-09-02 22:17

I'm as the name is, Himo, hehe.
Druid with the worst reputation on the server, I'm kinda sick of EQ these days anyways so I don't play much.

princess_K Thu, Dec-12-02 16:26

Hi ALL :)

Hi... Rey, Bridget, Himo... I am in the Carrara area and would love to do the decaf coffee thing one day...

Hi everyone...is there one more spare seat for coffee? I'd love to come along...I'm new -just joined now :) and haven't had quite enough of a chance to look into the whole "buddy" thing - will do momentarily...but when I spotted this thread I thought wow!, how cool to have some "mates" (hehe) in my area to get to know!
Actually, I only moved up to the Coast about 4 months ago (I'm in Southport) so I don't really know many people yet...
Anyway, hope coffee goes ahead,
Ciao for now,
Billi-Jean

Bridget75 Mon, Dec-16-02 09:26

Hi :)

Yep that would be great. We certainly will have to all get together for a drink soon (I say drink because I don't drink coffee, hate the stuff usually, lol).

Possibly after all this Christmas madness dies down.... :)

BilliJean Mon, Dec-16-02 09:54

Sounds great Bridget...yep, probably after the Festive rush is best...hehe, I'm giving up coffee for New Year (currently weening off it) so guess it won't be "coffee" as such for me either...

Eeek, gotta be up for work in 4 hours !! (I got carried away with the loads of info on this site)

Goodnight and lovely to meet you!

Billi-Jean :)

Bridget75 Mon, Dec-16-02 09:56

Yep me too. You could just sit here for hours reading stuff....

Actually I'll do that tomorrow to get back the motivation I lost somewhere along the way, lol.

Sleep well :D

BilliJean Wed, Dec-18-02 06:36

Hey Bridget, just wanted to see how you were going?
How's the motivation?

...bear with me as I get more familiar with how this all works -still not always sure I'm posting in the right spots!! :o

...how does the buddy thing actually work ? I've spent hours and hours looking around but there's sooo much info to absorb, I keep getting side-tracked!! :D

It was my first official day "back on track" today -it's been great!!
I've got my journal going, and FitDay too!

Would just like to have some people I regularly in touch with, you know, help keep me accountable, focused and positive!!

Take care,

BJ :)
