Hello Joe, Just started diet

Hello Joe,

I've just started the diet... I've done it before and it does work but i'm useless in the kitchen and get bored with the same food and go back to all my bad habits... mainly living on white bread.
I would love to find out more about shopping for low carbs... i'm living in cork. Most of the sites i've found are really expensive.. do you buy from them

Hope to hear from you

Hi

I'm Irish too. I'm living In Dublin but am from Kildare originally. I am doing a low GI diet and have been reading Montignac which I think I'll adapt slightly. I have also ordered the diet cure and potatoes not prozac which I will also use for my own low carb plan. I find it difficult to follow any particular plan because I am sensitive to lots of different foods.

Hi all,

I'm Irish too and new to this forum, though I've been lurking for a little while. I'm trying like mad to rid myself of the 'low fat is good' mentality that I've built up over years of weightwatchers and other diets! My question is, how have people managed with basically adapting the very American bent of the low carb books and eating plans into a way of eating that is easy in an Irish context? I'm finding it slightly frustrating reading the recipes and menus and not being able to get some of the ingredients here, or knowing how I can make them with what I can get here and still adhere to the plan.

Just wondering how anyone else is coping with that... If anyone would post a daily menu that would be really helpful.

Thanks so much,

Clare Anne

Where have you gone?

Hi Joe,

I'm Irish too and living in the west.

What has happened to our Irish page - has everyone gone on holidays?

I'm on Atkins and I would like to hear what foods you are all eating. I would love to hear from anyone - type of local support, you can't beat it!!

Perhaps we can breath some life back into our Irish forum? how about it LC buddies?

Good wishes from the damp(forget damp) wet west! Hope to hear from you soon!

Yipee

Last time I replied I wasoonly onthe diet 3 days. I am now on it five weeks and have lost 1 stone 6lbs. The problem is I am off to USA tomorrow for three weeks and I am a little scared that I might eat stuff I have not been eating lately. But the good thing is that I can find all the low carb goodies over there. I recently found a shop in Dublin that sold low carb bars in blueberry flavour - I thought I was great as there was only 3.5 gms per bar - they tasted so bad I had to throw them in the bin!

Anyway, back in 3 weeks and lighter than I am now. I actually find the diet alright because I am used to it now. Though my first PMS weekend was awful because I craved sugar so bad for two days solid before the craving went away. I DID NOT GIVE IN!
ANyway, keep up the good work and I will be back soon,
