Coming in to say hi!

Hi everyone! Most of you I have seen in other threads, but with the ecouragement of KV and Demi, I decided to come here and join in. I have been reading the threads for weeks now and have realized that I am happy where I am. I am doing an IF stopping eating at about 8 and not eating again any where from noon to 2 or 3, depending one whether I worked out or if I have to fix dinner for DH.

I want to keep my carbs at 30 or below from now on, I am very happy there, and right now my calories are at about 1500 plus or minus.

I just posted this in my journal,

I weighed my self today. I HATE my scale and this is why I really an taking the numbers with a grain of salt.....and some in my water...Now remember, this was in a space of ten minutes.

1-152.2
2-152.4
3-151.8
4-152.6
Waited a few mins, peed
5-151.4

So which one do YOU think I am writing down? 151.4

I am seriously thinking of getting back my old doctor like scale! I am sure I could go on Craig's list and find one! Anything beyond half a pound is not really needed unless you are less than a year old!

I have made myself some flax and almond meal MIMs and have some in the fridge. That is as close to baking as I can come right now, I love baked goods. Anyway, one of those for lunch and some almond butter is perfect. A change from my eggs. Not that I was tired of eggs, just a change. My DH is traveling, so I cooked up a 1 1/3 lbs of ground beef, added hot taco seasoning, an onion and four cooked turnips. OH YUM!!!!!! That is four dinners. It turns out that the calorie count is low with this, around 1300, but the carb count is close to 30 ‘cause of the almond butter. I have just enough to add 1 square of 90% dark Lindt chocolate. It tops the day off.

I was keeping my calories down for the two-week personal look-see, so I will continue it. It is interesting 'cause I have read that some people can still lose when the calories go a bit higher. I will try that after. Will have to do it by adding fattier meat? Ribs......here I come!

And so Hello! I love all the information here and will go add my name to the weigh in list. :)

Arlene, welcome to the land of maintenance. I happen to be one of those who can lose now at a caloric level higher than when I was trying to lose weight. If you look at my journal, you can see that I'm as surprised as anyone by this, especially by the association between eating around 3000 cal/day and losing my most recent 3 lbs.

Based on my exercise, I can understand tolerating a few more carbs, but what I'm experiencing flummoxes me.

AJ, I am going to go check out your journal. I am still at the experimental stage, trying to get and keep carbs up to 30 while not taking calories too high.
