Dr Bruce Ames at 86, presents the importance of micro nutrients to long life. MDs dont learn nutrition.... he's waiting for them to catch up on his work...

He's funny.

His presentation is STUNNING : we lack sufficient nutrients for optimal health. Eating our greens is vital.

Dr Rhonda Patrick of Found My Fitness was a postdoctoral student under Dr Bruce Ames.

Dr. Ames is a goldmine of knowledge. Thanks, Ms A. I'm really enjoying these presentations. And anyone who was a mentor of Rhonda is by definition, a mentor of mine.

Starting Jan 31, 2022, the Optimising Nutrition blog is adding all the Sections of its new Micronutrients Masterclass book. Eight parts are there already today (2/1/22 ) but there will be more. These 3 books in the series are filled with answers to FAQs about DDF, Macros and Micros.

Reading How the Micronutrient class works, how with the right data, you can craft a Micronutrient rich diet based on your own diet and food preferences. It is one that meets all Optimal Intake levels (not merely RDI) of 34 necessary vitamins and minerals, without using supplements.

Have enjoyed these conversations with Dr Ames. Vitamin D is the one I do supplement, though on last year's blood work, I went over 100 for the first time. So I took no supplements this summer, and in winter 5,000.

Thank you , Janet. A few years ago I came to the conclusion that no one diet was best. Each had value.

And here you have posted a link to looking at all "diets" with the objectivity of science. Very cool stuff.

This caught my interest, and caused a chuckle. Main stream doctors will not want to hear this as it flies in the face of their nutritional doctrine.

Our analysis indicates that foods with more Omega 3 and cholesterol per calorie align with a lower energy intake.

Ive been trying to eat more fish. Just cant get it down. Used to like fish, or so I thought. Apparently not. Beef tastes 10x better. I did find a couple recipes to try to get some salmon down. Smoked like lox, yuuuuuum. Baked salmon.... Nope. Pickled fish is yummy but it contains a ton of sugar...... Will keep trying.

Of course I made a number of changes all at once last August, :) but believe that the improvement in my nutrition did allow me to eat less and lose more weight than I thought possible, while my hair, nails, energy were better than at any time on very low carb. The vague minor low thyroid symptoms improved with eating more protein, vegetables and yes, fish. Some foods I use now are in the comments on my success story.

Marty Kendall continues to offer generous information for free, including a 7 day Nutrient Clarity analysis of your diet, personalized list of foods for various conditions, on the new community website, all to help everyone Optimize their Nutrition.

Today's new Micronutrient post in the community is "What is Nutrient Density and What is Satiety? This post should also be on the Blog soon.
