Did you know it takes less than an hour a day's walking to hit 1000 miles in 12 months? That doing so dramatically boosts your immunity and cuts your risk of diabetes, heart attack, obesity, stroke and depression? Try the fun, free & flexible challenge 99.9% of participants recommend to a friend: it’s just 2.74 miles a day. You don't need to change your life; you do need to stick at it; you WILL feel an amazing difference.

A journey of a 1000 miles begins with a single step

If anyone would like to join me on this journey, please feel free to jump in :)

Just record your steps and mileage on a daily basis, with a running total below that for each month.

Edited to add that I actually began the challenge on 1 January, but you can start at any time and use that date a year from now as the end of your challenge.

I'm kind of tempted to join this but the FAQs aren't quite clear to me about adding steps instead of miles. Does it automatically sync with your fitbit and convert the steps to miles or do you need to add your steps manually and it converts that? Does walking on a treadmill/on the spot count or does it only take GPS distance into account?

Hi LCinAust, you can do it any way you like. Your Fitbit should be able to give you both steps and miles, and you can walk on a treadmill, on the spot, anyway you want. I've just set up this challenge on the forum based on it, recording all the steps I do in the day, along with the mileage, with a running total for each month.

Hope that helps and it would be great if you do want to join me :)
