meals on the go...
My brown bag lunch used to be a couple of sandwiches. Now the bread is out. I'm retired, so my lunch on the go only occurs maybe a couple times a year (I work elections for the city). I was thinking I could take a plastic container with bacon and scrambled eggs, maybe some pork chops wrapped in tin foil. Maybe some cheese snacks.
I won't have access to a refrigerator - and sometimes the room has no A/C (most times it does). Any other ideas? |
I sometimes take cold hamburgers or roast beef.
Hard-boiled eggs. I like mashed yolks with butter and a pinch of salt. Canned tuna, salmon, sardines, or chicken. Nuts, if they are on your food plan. I often take a bottle or two of water or tea. If a larger cool-pack is easy to do, then a container of yoghurt, or gelatin cream. I often tuck in something frozen, which will keep my cool things well, for up to 24 hours. In cold weather, a thermos of tea, or broth, or even hearty soup. :) |
Great ideas! Living in a desert, I always have several bottles of water. HB eggs - how could I forget that. Canned tuna also. Thanks!

Chopped or any kind of salad with dressing. You can add bits of ham and turkey and cheese or olives or whatever you like. I second the hard boiled eggs and canned chicken or fish.
