10 Signs You Are Deficient in Magnesium

I found this article to be well written. It does not seem to have misleading statements and seems based on actual science.

I do supplement magnesium and use the Wheat Belly method magnesium water recipe.

Read Undoctored. very good.

Im ready for a new bottle of Mg..... and was looking for my bottle of MOM. Perfect timing.

This simple recipe yields magnesium bicarbonate, a highly absorbable form of magnesium to restore tissue magnesium with least potential for diarrhea. A 4-ounce serving provides 90 mg of elemental magnesium; 4 ounces twice per day thereby adds an additional 180 mg of elemental magnesium to your diet.

Note that the milk of magnesia must be unflavored, as flavorings block the reaction. Be sure to label your bottle to prevent any unexpected guzzling by someone (which results in diarrhea). Magnesium water does not need to be refrigerated if consumed within 1-2 weeks.

2 liter bottle of seltzer (not club soda)
3 tablespoons unflavored milk of magnesia

Uncap the seltzer and pour off a few tablespoons. Shake the milk of magnesia, then pour out 3 tablespoons. (Most brands come with a handy little measuring cup.) Pour into the seltzer slowly.

Cap securely, then shake until all sediment has dissolved. Allow to sit for 15 minutes and it will clarify. Drink 4 ounces twice per day. Label the bottle to keep others from inadvertently drinking it (and experiencing diarrhea by drinking too much).
If rapid restoration of magnesium is desired, e.g., chronic migraine headaches or atrial fibrillation, I’ve had patients drink 8 ounces twice per day to provide 360 mg elemental magnesium per day. Just be aware that even this great preparation has potential to cause loose stools.]

Definitely a very good article, as its rather detailed and complete.

One symptom seems to be missing: heart palpitations. That was my symptom. Fortunately, Mg is an easy remedy.

And Mg is involved with brain function. Dr Amen goes to great lengths regarding the importance of Mg to our mental health.

All my family members supplement.

What is seltzer I don't think I know what it is.

Decent article, except for her plant-based spin. Looking at nutrition info at a glance with different cuts, beef has more Mg per serving than a friggin' banana. Same with pretty much all seafood, not just wild caught.

Its fizzy, like soda/pop but its just water, carbonation and a flavoring.

I swapped out diet soda for seltzer.

It's in the beverage aisle with the drink mixers, soda water and tonic water.

I've *never* seen seltzer labelled or otherwise identified as such on a grocery shelf. Ever. Thanks to Uncle Gooogle, I now know The Difference Between Club Soda, Seltzer and Sparkling Mineral Water.

Hope this is helpful to anyone else :sunny:

I have two cases made by Canada Dry.

Mandarin Orange Sparkling Seltzer Water, and
Triple Berry Sparkling Seltzer Water. This latter one is beerlike for me.... just my taste buds as my kids dont get the beer impact.

Many many options out there.
We thought about a carbonating machine to make oyr own using the well water.

Wow, thank you Doreen, that is a great explanation of all three!
